The Centre is a multi-sport club with cricket, rugby and football pitches available. Due to the high number of Northamptonshire League games the ground is always fully booked on a Saturday during the cricket season, so the VIXINS try to schedule all home games for Sundays.
The Obelisk Centre provide the club with an artificial strip which the team much appreciate as this strip means the ball makes more sound when it bounces and is easier to hear than it would be on a grass wicket.
The Centre also has a bar which is always open on match days and features as well as reasonably priced drinks, a wide screen TV and pool tables. This is fantastic for the team as if a game is rained off at least nobody will be bored!
Many away teams have already commented how impressed they've been with the facilities at the Centre and the VIXINS hope to play all their home games for the foreseeable future at this excellent venue.
From North, East, West.
Take your best route to the A14, which joins the M1 with the A1.
Exit A14 at junction 2, A508 and follow signposts towards Northampton. Through Maidwell, Lamport. Brixworth by pass.
Upon entering Northampton carry straight on at large roundabout, up and over a slight hill, The Whitehills pub is on your right, with a few shops.
Carry on for app. ¼ mile, to traffic lights with only a turn to the left.
Turn left into HOLLY LODGE DRIVE. Continue up the hill, with houses on both sides, to the top. Turn left into Reynard Way, and then right into Obelisk Rise. Follow this road through the houses, until you reach the OBELISK, which is a tall tower like stone structure. Turn right down the side of the structure, and follow the road to the club.
Please drive slowly, as pedestrians, and children may be using the road, which does not have the best of surfaces.
From South
Take M1 to junction 15, or other roads if preferred, to enter Northampton via A508. After 2 miles exit via flyover junction, and join A45 ring road. Signs will be for Wellingborough, Kettering, or Corby.
Exit at the third junction, and join A43 signposted Kettering or Corby. Do not exceed 50 miles an hour, as this is a timed section of road. At the second roundabout, which is traffic light controlled, take the second exit signposted Market Harborough.
Through a large industrial estate, to the second roundabout.
Take the third exit, at 1 o clock, into HOLLY LODGE DRIVE.
Continue up the hill to the top, and turn right into Reynard Way, and then right into Obelisk Rise.
