Profile: Ian is the rock on which the middle order, and indeed the team, is built. With his cavalier batting performances Northants are never short of somebody to give their opponents a good score to chase. As well as undoubtedly being Northants best player with the bat, Ian also bowls, and is able to pick up wickets against even the strongest batting line ups.
Ian capped a fine first competitive year with the club by winning both the batsman of the year and player of the year awards, which underlines his massive importance to the team if they are to perform well.
Ian's appearences in 2006 have been limited to 2, although on both occasions he has made his mark with the bat, with a vital 90+ score against Birmingham and 71 against Vipers in the last game of the season, scored in a good time to virtually guarentee VIXINS would go out on a high.
